CAN-SPAM Compliance Checker

Paste your cold email below to check it against CAN-SPAM Act requirements. This tool checks for the four main compliance elements required by US law.

What This Tool Checks

The CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. 7701-7713) requires all commercial email messages to include four key elements:

  1. Physical mailing address -- Your email must include a valid physical postal address. This can be a street address, a P.O. Box registered with the U.S. Postal Service, or a private mailbox registered with a commercial mail receiving agency.
  2. Unsubscribe mechanism -- Every commercial email must include a clear and conspicuous way for recipients to opt out of future messages. The opt-out mechanism must be functional for at least 30 days after the email is sent.
  3. Non-deceptive subject line -- The subject line must not mislead the recipient about the contents or subject matter of the message. Deceptive subject lines like "RE:" or "FWD:" when there is no prior conversation are violations.
  4. Accurate From header -- The "From," "To," "Reply-To," and routing information must be accurate and identify the person or business that initiated the message.

Violations can result in penalties of up to $50,120 per email. Use Sales.co to automate compliance and send cold emails with built-in CAN-SPAM protections.
